Because of childhood obesity in North America, teaching children to cook is an important life skill and a wonderful activity for the whole family. Encourage children to make healthier choices by trying a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and ethnic foods.

During one of my cooking classes, one mother declared, “My son does not eat anything green.” We planned to make guacamole, fresh tomato salsa, and corn tortilla chips. I asked her son to help me prepare the guacamole. By the end of the class, he was licking the bowl.
